He is a growing boy!!
It's been another week, and Christian has gotten so big!! We have been to the doctor multiple times since he was born for check-up's and he is growing like a weed. We went this Wednesday, Oct 21 and he weighed 8 lbs 15 oz... holy cow!! He is changing everyday!!
So, Brian went back to work on Monday, so Christian and I have been at home by ourselves.... he spends his days sleeping and eating, and I pick up the slack doing everything else :-) I am having so much fun at home with him, and I enjoy every minute of getting to watch him grow. He has already been trying to hold his head up since he was about a day old, and he has been attempting to try to roll over the past couple days. God has certainly blessed us with him. We love him so much!! Here is a look at yet another week of Christian.....

He is already one week old....

Well it has been one week already since he was born. I absolutely cannot believe how fast time has flown by since he got here. I definitely believe people now when they tell you to enjoy your kids because they grow up so fast. It makes me sad because I want him to stay small.
Christian is such a good baby, in one week he has only kept us up all night once. We have enjoyed every minute with him, and are so blessed that God gave him to us. He usually sleeps most of the day and most of the night (only waking 2 times to eat).
THE LABOR AND DELIVERY:
We went in last Tuesday night (Oct 6) to start the induction... I wasn't actually induced until 6:00 am on Wednesday, but they gave me Cervadil on Tuesday night to soften things up so the Pitocin would take the next day. I started having horrible contractions around 11 pm on Tuesday, and they kept getting worse (Yes, labor is the worst pain I have ever been through in my entire life). My nurse told me that the Cervadil would not dilate me, just efface me, but I was in so much pain that I knew something else was going on. At 6 am Wednesday, they started the Pitocin and my Dr came in to check me about 7:45 am and told me that I was already at 3 cm. I was shocked, the Cervadil that I had the night before had in fact started dilating me. My doctor then broke my water (so I could get my Epidural), and it went so fast from that point. I was progressing about a centimeter every 20-25 min, and at about 10:30 am he was ready to be born, but due to his fluctuating heart rate, the nurses decided to leave him there to steady his heart for about 30 min. My doctor came in again about 10:30 in heels and a dress LOL and put on her scrubs over her clothes (she delivered Christian in a skirt and heels), and at 11 am, I started pushing and Christian was born at 11:21 am. I stared at him in amazement when they showed him to us, he was absolutely beautiful. They let me hold him for a minute or two, then took him to the NICU for several hours (felt like a lifetime) because he swallowed a large amount of amniotic fluid on his way out, and he wasn't breathing properly. All in all, the labor and delivery was wonderful (after the epidural), and the pain I did go through was totally worth what we received from it. Brian and I are two totally different people now, the minute Christian was born our world changed, the things that seemed important to us, no longer are because he is our world now. We truly thank God for him a million times a day.
We really appreciate everyone who came to see us in the hospital, we love everyone of you and we thank you for taking your time to come see us. We have wonderful family and friends.
Here are some pictures of Christian in his first week..... we are trying to take as many pictures and videos as possible, since our pediatrician has limited us to having any visitors, except for immediate family (or taking him out anywhere) for 4 weeks because of the swine flu and flu season. It makes me sad because I wanted to share him with everyone, but his health and safety is our number one priority.

the day is almost here....
Well tomorrow is the big day..... Christian will hopefully be here (as long as it's a smooth labor). I am so glad because I have started (in the last week, wouldn't ya know??) getting horrid stretch marks and sleep (what is that?) is non-existent!! I guess my body is just trying to prepare for the months (and years lol) ahead. Please continue to keep us in your prayers for a smooth labor and a healthy baby :-)
We will be sure to post pictures once he gets here!!
